WiFi networks are everywhere, and they leave traces. Wigle.net and similar tools map millions of wireless networks across the world, along with details about when and where they were spotted. Most people don't realize this data exists or how useful it can be for investigations.

Wireless network data helps you geolocate people and devices, verify where someone actually was at a given time, identify locations that aren't obvious from an address, and map out the infrastructure around a target. You can spot patterns in where networks appear, track how locations change over time, and even use historical network data to connect digital activity to physical places. If someone's claiming to be somewhere they weren't, or if you're trying to verify a location from a photo or social media post, wireless network analysis can provide solid evidence.

This course teaches you how to use Wigle.net and other wireless mapping tools effectively, understand what the data actually tells you, combine network information with other OSINT sources, and recognize the limitations of what you can and can't conclude from wireless data. You'll learn how to search by location, interpret the results, and use this information to strengthen your investigations and fill in geographic gaps in your research.
